At the mention of 'End-of-Age'; what comes to the mind of everyone is the earth being consumed by fire. This is what we’ve been told, read and heard in recent times. In actual fact, the earth could be destroyed by fire today if the following occurs. Let me take you through a journey.

The following verses were documented in the bible as words which came forth the mouth of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 13 vs 40-43 KJV
“As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41  The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things [3] that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42  And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43  Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

If you read the scriptures on the genealogy of Jesus Christ as captured in the Gospel of Matthew and Gospel of Luke, you would realize that – during His earthly ministry – the Son of God used words mysteriously which birthed series of allegories and parables.

Back to verse 42 and 43; could it be safe to say that while the sun shall be a ‘furnace of fire’ for the unrighteous, the righteous shall shine forth (glowing) as the ‘sun’ in the kingdom of their Father? This could be a figurative language.

When we mention ‘sun’; usually, we’re unconscious of the fact that the sun being the biggest of the elements in the solar system is nothing but a ‘blazing furnace’.

How hot is the sun?

The best microscopic analogy for better understanding – arguably – would be ‘boiling point of water’ as it happens to be a common knowledge. Water boils when the temperature reaches 100ºC, at that point I cannot assure anyone that I could successfully dip in my fingers; I am sorry if that breaks your heart – but I promise you that I can swim in fairly warm water.

The sun’s surface, however, is 57 times the boiling point of water at 5726ºC. But wait for this: At the core of the sun, gravitational attraction produces immense pressure and temperature, which can reach more than 15,000,000ºC. If this is not a furnace of fire I wonder what is.

Most elements in the solar system produce gravitational pull, the sun, planets, moon etc. Heavier objects (really, more massive ones) produce a bigger gravitational pull than lighter ones, so as the heavyweight in our solar system, the Sun exerts the strongest gravitational pull.

I am going somewhere, please follow.

Do you know that at every point in time, the sun is pulling the earth and other elements in the solar system? The same could be used to explain why objects fall to the earth when we drop them. The Sun's gravity pulls on the planets, just as Earth's gravity pulls down anything that is not held up by some other force and keeps you and me on the ground.

How can birds resist gravity and fly?

The birds produce ‘opposing force’ through lift and thrust (I will explain), thus creating a balance in the sky.

“Everything is affected by gravity, but with birds, even though they are affected by gravity, they can fly because they exhort energy to flap their wings.”

When a bird flaps its wings it pushes air downward resulting to an uplift and backward causing a thrust.

The scientific application of lift and thrust is the success story of aircraft today.

Why is the earth not closer to the sun or collapse right in as a result of gravitational pull?

Sir Isaac Newton one of the greatest scientists ever, who lived in England about 300 years ago, provided the first good explanation.

This is what I believe Sir Isaac Newton was trying to explain; I believe the ‘motion sideways’ simply point at the never-ending rotation of the earth. I am going somewhere.

The earth has been spinning since the beginning of age, you may wonder for a second why – having been ascertained that the earth spins at linear speed of 1,036 miles per hour (faster than the speed of sound) –  it doesn't feel like you and I are spinning around the center of the Earth at hundreds of miles an hour. Nicolaus Copernicus has set the record straight with his heliocentric model, and we now know that the Earth spins on its axis as it revolves around the sun.

Let’s get back to Sir Isaac Newton’s theory and why the earth hasn’t crash into the ‘furnace of fire’ if the sun constantly pull it with gravitational force.

From a personal view; I have a strong feeling that the gravitational pull from the sun and the constant spinning of the earth (rotation) is why we have revolution – that is – earth revolving round the sun.

The sun pulls on the earth, but to a different side at every instant resulting to a merry-go-round situation as the earth swing around the sun.

There is the need to substantiate this assumption therefore a model has to be created to prove this theory.

In the meantime let’s look into Sir Newton’s explanation and the general view of the said theory.

“Now if the Sun is pulling the planets, why don't they just fall in and burn up? Well, in addition to falling toward the Sun, the planets are moving sideways. This is the same as if you have a weight on the end of a string. If you swing it around, you are constantly pulling it toward your hand, just as the gravity of the Sun pulls the planet in, but the motion sideways keeps the ball swinging around. Without that sideways motion, it would fall to the center; and without the pull toward the center, it would go flying off in a straight line, which is, of course, exactly what happens if you let go of the string.” Source

Relax, don’t be confused!

What the ‘general view’ is saying, in a nut shell, is that the sun could yet pull the earth and other planets to the center because of ‘motion sideways’ –that is –orbital movement of the planets around the sun.

In all this, there is however a consensus, which is the fact that all elements in the solar system would crash right into the furnace of fire (sun) if all movements cease; rotation, revolution.

It’s rather amazing to see the position science has taken today, striving hard to rationalize the creation of the world outside of God’s Word.

For instance, in an attempt to rationalize what brought about the rotation of the earth, someone has the following to say going down to the beginning of age.

"Before there were planets in our solar system, there was a spinning, nebulous cloud of dust with our sun at the center. Over time, these dust particles collided into one another and began to stick, forming larger and larger rocks and ultimately planets through a process known as accretion. But remember, the cloud of dust -- or accretion disc -- was rotating from the start. As the particles that formed the Earth began to stick together, that momentum was conserved, causing the growing planet to spin faster and faster, much the way a figure skater does when he pulls his arms in toward his body. By the time the Earth had formed, it had all of the angular momentum it would need to keep spinning to this very day." Source

However, it is possible the above process had come to be following series of declarations by the Creator.

Today, ‘the atheists’ as they dominate the world of science want us to believe that creation came to be as a result of happenstance, as a result of some nameable forces and shall continue to be till eternity.
Let’s look at 2nd Peter 3 vs 3-7 for a response; I will quote the English Standard Version (ESV) for easy understanding.

“Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the Day of Judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

“Science is not antagonistic to spirituality” – Dr. Caroline Leaf, cognitive neuroscientist with a PhD in Communication Pathology, when asked if she has had doubts or see the contradictions between science and bible, below was her response.

“No, never at all. Science just confirms the Word of God day by day. Science is intact catching up with the Word of God.” Source

In conclusion, the world would continue to rotate and revolve around the ‘furnace of fire’ for an appointed time. – 2nd Peter 3 vs 7

Matthew 24:30-31 King James Version (KJV)
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

So what happens when the sun complete its mission in the end of age? After the righteous are elected and delivered into the kingdom of The Almighty? [Our Father]

Jesus Christ, in Matthew 24 vs 29, said the following “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

“… shall the sun be darkened,…”

As it is with food preparation once the meal is done and ready to serve we turn off the heat.

“We all have embarked upon a journey in this life, but the question is where are we going? Are we journeying up the path of righteousness, or are, journeying down the path of sin and unbelief? Or are journeying down the path of rebellion and self?” –J Doug Stringer

Accept Jesus Christ today, who according to Romans 4:25 KJV, "was delivered up for our offences and was raised again for our justification".
